What should I do if the action of the pneumatic actuator is slow?

2025-03-04
In practical use, AT pneumatic actuators sometimes exhibit slow movement, which affects production efficiency and equipment safety. So, what should we do if this situation arises? Below is the answer for everyone.
A-series pneumatic actuator
Firstly, we need to identify the reasons for the slow action of AT pneumatic actuators, which generally include the following aspects:
1. Insufficient gas supply pressure
The standard gas supply pressure for AT pneumatic actuators is 0.4-0.7MPa. If the gas supply pressure is insufficient, it will cause the actuator to move slowly.
2. Electromagnetic valve malfunction
The solenoid valve is a key component that controls the action of the AT pneumatic actuator. If the solenoid valve fails, it can cause the actuator to fail or move slowly.
3. Internal malfunction of actuator
If the internal parts of the actuator are damaged or poorly lubricated, it can also cause the actuator to move slowly.
4. Output torque mismatch
If the output torque of the actuator is less than the load of the valve, it will cause the actuator to act slowly.
Double/single acting pneumatic actuator
Once the cause is identified, solving it will become simple. In response to the above reasons, the following measures can be taken to solve the problem of slow action of pneumatic actuators:
1. Adjust the gas supply pressure
Measure the air source pressure with a pressure gauge to ensure that the air supply pressure of the AT pneumatic actuator is within the standard range. If the pressure is insufficient, adjust and calibrate it in a timely manner. The methods include adjusting the gas source pressure reducing valve, replacing the gas source with a larger one, and checking for leaks in the gas source pipeline.
2. Maintain the solenoid valve
Regularly inspect and maintain the solenoid valve, use a multimeter to measure whether it is powered on, whether the circuit is normal, etc. If there is any abnormality, it should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
3. Check the interior of the AT pneumatic actuator
Disassemble the actuator and inspect the internal components for wear or damage. If there is damage, the parts need to be replaced.
Check if the actuator lubricating oil is sufficient, and if it is insufficient, add lubricating oil.
4. Check the output torque
Calculate the load on the valve. If the output torque of the actuator is less than the load on the valve, a larger actuator needs to be replaced.
